Skystorm AIP Collaboration Milestones
Skystorm AIP collaboration has now reached a remarkable two-year milestone, producing engaging Inside Science TV segments for audiences nationwide. The American Institute of Physics (AIP) and Skystorm Productions recently celebrated two years of working together on Inside Science TV—a twice-weekly video segment covering a diverse range of science topics.
Whether you’re a wine enthusiast (Electrical Pulses Could Make Better Wine), a golf lover (Optical Illusion Can Improve Your Golf Game), or someone who simply enjoys learning, Inside Science TV delivers broadcast-ready content that’s interesting, diverse, and relevant.
The 90-second videos are published on AIP’s website and syndicated to approximately 40 local news stations across the U.S., with a growing international footprint.

How Skystorm Powers Inside Science TV
Skystorm has the privilege of producing the final polished videos from raw footage and interviews collected by AIP’s production team. These interviews often feature physicists, chemists, and scientists from institutions across the country.
Skystorm’s team enhances each segment with motion graphics, 2D and 3D models, lower thirds, sound effects, and voice-over narration, turning scientific insights into compelling visual stories that resonate with a wide audience.
Over the last two years, this close-knit partnership has flourished. “We are a family here at Skystorm, and we like to extend that relationship to our clients,” says John Haslam, CEO of Skystorm. “We love that we have such open communication and are able to accommodate any special requests they may have.”

Behind the Scenes: Skystorm’s Workflow for AIP
To celebrate this close collaboration, Inside Science TV team members Ben Stein, Emilie Lorditch, and Karin Heineman visited Skystorm’s production facilities in mid-November. The visit offered a behind-the-scenes look at how each segment is created.
“Having worked with Skystorm remotely for a long time in a very successful fashion, today we saw firsthand the steps of post-production for our segments, including proofing, editing, visualization, animation, and color correction. A wonderful, informative, and inspiring day,” said Ben Stein, director of Inside Science at the American Institute of Physics.

AIP & Skystorm Communication Model
Warren Williams, Skystorm’s Post Production Supervisor, led the team through a detailed walkthrough starting at Edit 1 and ending at Edit 5. Each step showcased how the team of editors and graphic designers handle every episode with precision and consistency.
“Our team follows a specific workflow daily, which allows us to stay on track and be efficient in a high-volume production environment,” Warren explained.
“Skystorm gives equal credit to AIP’s production team for working so hard at all hours to ensure only the best stories are captured,” adds John Haslam. “It truly is a team effort, and I think the results speak for themselves, almost 200 syndicated video segments and counting!”
